Rachel shook her head and just smiled at Sam. He really was a big dork, but he was her dork and she would have him any other way. He was simply perfect the way he was and she loved every dork aspect of his personality. “I don’t think it is weird but I don’t think we’re going to win, after all we are right in’s.”

Sam scoffed. “Oh please, you guys are totally gonna win. I’ve been petitioning for you all around school…” he pressed his lips together in a smile. “And I could always take a page out of your book and stuff the ballots,” he teased, pinching her cheek before going into the booth to vote.

Rachel rubbed her cheek and rolled her eyes but smiled at Sam after a few seconds passed by. He really was the sweetest boy she had ever met and the fact that he was confident in the fact that she would win prom queen was so amazing to her. Never in her life had she ever thought of winning a title like prom queen. “You know that was a horrible idea of mine Sam, it ruined everything. I wasn’t allowed at sectionals and I raised Kurt’s hopes and then dashed them.”

Sam laughed. “Thanks. My mom loves ballroom dancing but Dad has two left feet so she danced with me a lot as a kid. We still do it sometimes and now I think she’s even making Stevie and Stacey dance together.” he laughed. “Surprisingly, Stevie is totally into it but Stacey just hates dancing. I think she’ll get used to it when she’s older and doesn’t have to dance with her brother though,” he laughed again and spun Rachel around. “You’re a fantastic dancer but I suppose it makes sense since you’re amazing at everything.”

Rachel blushed causing her cheeks to turn almost as pink as her dress. She was very thankful for the low lighting in the gym. It was suppose to add to the atmosphere of the evening. She really wasn’t use to all the compliments she got from Sam. They were always so thoughtful and honest. She knew he meant every word of them. “Thank you Sam, but I’m not amazing at everything, I still have trouble making friends. But I’m glad to know you think so highly of me. It makes me feel incredibly happy.” Rachel decided to stop them from dancing for a second so she could pull Sam in for a kiss. But this time this kiss was strong then the one they shared back at her house and it lasted longer. Rachel only pulled away when she needed to breath again. “I’m really happy to have such an amazing, and considerate guy as my boyfriend. Sam, I-I love you.”

Sam kissed her back passionately, his lips moving softly against hers. He smiled when they pulled away. Rachel saying it took him by surprise for a moment and he thought it over in his head. Rachel was beautiful, talented in every aspect, and even though she was a little headstrong it fit his personality well. “I love you too,” he answered back and kissed her again, wrapping his arms around her waist as he slowed their dancing to just stepping back and forth in a slow circle.

Rachel smiled and rested her head gently on Sam’s chest as they swayed gently to the music. It felt so right to be here with Sam and just enjoy the evening with him. To just enjoy the feel of his arms around her waist and the gentle rise and fall of his chest as the moved slowly in a gentle circle. It felt like this where she was meant to be as if being in Sam’s strong yet gentle hold was where she belonged and always would. “Tonight has been perfect so far, and I just now nothing will change that.”

“It’s going to be even better when you get up on that stage and win prom queen,” Sam smiled and pressed a kiss to her forehead. He danced with her slowly for a few more minutes before Joe, Mike, Artie, and Rory suddenly ran up and yelled at him to stop being all gross and lovey with his girlfriend so they could go up and sing. Sam laughed and gave Rachel another kiss before excitedly bounding up to the stage with the other boys. He grabbed a microphone and pointed out to the crowd where Rachel was. “This song I’d like to dedicate to my amazing girlfriend… Rachel Anderson-Berry,” he smiled and nodded to the other boys. The band started and they began to sing What Makes You Beautiful, Sam smiling and winking at Rachel as much as he could with the girls all attacking him in the front.

Rachel blushed and hid her face in her hands a few times well Sam and the other boys sang but she couldn’t keep the smile off her face. She was so happy. Tonight was going so well, and being there with Sam made it even better. She really felt like the luckiest girl in the world. Once the song was over and the boys walked off stage Rachel ran up to Sam and pulled him into a hug and placed a soft kiss to his cheek. ‘That was so sweet of you to dedicate that performance to me Sam, you are the best boyfriend a girl could ask for.”

Sam grinned and hugged her tightly. “Glad I could make your prom worthwhile, Rach. When you’re all famous don’t forget who made you so happy tonight,” he said jokingly. “Now it’s time to vote for my beautiful girlfriend and her brother for Prom King and Prom Queen…” he paused. “That’s not weird is it?” he shrugged and went over to the ballots.

Sam grinned and returned the soft kiss, not pressing for more. He laughed and held out his arm for her to hold onto her elbow as he escorted her to his car. “Let me help you into your carriage, my fair princess.” he smiled and helped her step up into the truck. It was adorably comical the way she had to get into his tall truck. He quickly got in the drivers seat and fifteen minutes later they pulled up to the school. He sighed happily and made sure to get out of his truck to help Rachel out and walk her into the gym.

Rachel thanked Sam and kissed his cheek after he had helped her out of his trunk, she always had to basically be lifted into and out of it because of her height. But she liked having Sam’s strong muscular arms wrapped around her waist. It made her feel safe, and protected. “Here we are McKinley Senior Prom.” Rachel turned to Sam as they reached the entrance to the gym and smiled at him her eyes shining with joy. “I can’t think of anyone else I would rather be here with than you Sam.”

Sam beamed at her. “Likewise, Rach. Come on! Let’s go dance before I go up to sing with the rest of the guys.” He grinned and pulled her onto the dance floor, ignoring the looks. No one at school really knew about Rachel and Sam since they didn’t tend to flaunt their relationship, but they were probably just surprised that Rachel had “lucked out” twice by dating two popular jock guys at the school. Sam could care less. He was just glad to be here enjoying his time with Rachel.

Rachel ignored the looks she was getting from all the cheerios in the gym and just payed attention to Sam. She just payed attention to him and the music as they danced together. She was happy just being there with him enjoying the evening and she wasn’t going to let anyone ruin this perfect night for her. She was just going to be happy and dance with her boyfriend. After all it was her Senir Prom too, and a girl only gets one chance at a perfect senior prom. “You are an excellent dancer Sam. I feel like I’m dancing with a prince at a fairytale ball.”

Sam laughed. “Thanks. My mom loves ballroom dancing but Dad has two left feet so she danced with me a lot as a kid. Sam cursed, checking the clock on the dashboard of his truck. Crap he could not be late to picking Rachel up. It was prom and he knew how excited she was. Not to mention that it wouldn’t exactly impress her fathers… he had met them plenty of times before when he went over to study with Blaine or be tutored by Rachel when Kurt couldn’t do it—but never as Rachel’s boyfriend.

He almost hit the expensive car that was backing out of the Anderson-Berry’s driveway and he yelped, hitting the breaks. He let Sebastian and Blaine back out, waving apologetically. Sebastian just flipped him off and sped away. Sam swallowed as he pulled up, jumping out of the truck. He nearly forgot the corsage in his haste and he fixed his hair after knocking on the door, wearing a simple black tux with a tie to match the color of Rachel’s dress which he hand’t actually seen but Rachel picked the pink out by herself anyway since Sam probably would’ve gotten the wrong shade and caused some disaster.

Rachel answered the door and smiled when she saw Sam. He looked so handsome in his tux and the tie was simply perfect, she knew she had made the right choice when she had selected it out for Sam to wear. His hair was also perfectly styled for the evening adding something very suav to his look. “Hi Sam. You look amazing the tux really suits you well.”

When Rachel opened the door Sam sighed. “Listen, Rachel, I’m so sorry we might get to prom late but my car wouldn’t start and Burt couldn’t figure out what was wrong and Kurt just got back from the hospital so everything’s been really—” he cut off mid sentence when he finally opened his eyes to look at her. He stared for a minute, shaking his head to get out of his daze. “W-Wow… you look… wow.” he said dumbly. He smiled a little at Rachel. “But really… you look absolutely gorgeous… You’re going to be the prettiest girl there tonight, I hope you know that.” he smiled at her once he got over the initial shock. Rachel really was a pretty girl and Sam actually loved her adorable style, but seeing her so formal… it was amazing. He slipped the corsage onto her wrist. “While I’d love to say hi to your Dads I think we’re going to be late if we don’t get going now…” he checked his watch nervously.

Rachel looked down at the corsage once Sam had slipped it onto her wrist and practically beamed up at him. It was so beautiful, more beautiful than words could describe and Rachel loved it. But what she loved more was the fact that Sam thought she was gorgeous, no boy had ever called her that before, or had ever told her she would be the prettiest girl at any event with such confidence before. It made her heart skip a beat. So she did the only thing she could think of to thank Sam. She leaned forward and place a tender and gentle kiss to his lips. “You can say hi to them another time, let’s get going prom awaits us my handsome knight.”
